How this calculator works

Sale proceeds are the aircraft value times the share a lessor pays for it. Cash released is the proceeds minus your existing loan balance. The monthly lease payment is the proceeds times the lease rate factor, a common way lessors quote rent as a percentage of the aircraft cost per month.

Frequently asked questions

What is a lease rate factor?

The monthly lease payment expressed as a percentage of the aircraft's cost to the lessor. A 1.5% factor on a $500,000 aircraft means $7,500 a month.

Why would a lessor pay less than full value?

Lessors set purchase price against their own appraisal, the aircraft's condition and the operator's profile.
